Responsibilities
- Successfully read and understand American and European blueprints, geometrical callouts, and weld symbols to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Use GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW to effectively weld weldments, tanks, and metal parts together per the weld process specification sheet.
- Weld on a wide variety of metals and alloys, including carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Hand layout of weldments with little to no supervision or assistance.
- Use fixtures, gauges, and jigs to manufacture welded parts to customer specifications.
- Assist with creating work instructions.
- Complete first piece, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures.
- Perform pressure testing on fuel tanks and hydro testing on glycol tanks.
- Adapt to the product mix requirements at each facility and analyze weld processes to recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in reading and understanding American and European blueprints, geometrical callouts, and weld symbols.
- Experience with GMAW-P, GMAW-S, and GTAW welding techniques.
- Ability to weld a wide variety of metals and alloys, including carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
