Welder (Tig Welding)

Responsibilities

• Perform all position welding on a wide range of similar and dissimilar metals and alloys requiring a high degree of skill and weld quality that conforms to ASME code, dimensional, general inspection and test requirements
• Work from drawings and job layouts
• Weld using positioners
• Scheduled pipe-fitting/welding sch 10,40 Stainless/carbon pipe welding
• Examine the materials to be welded to verify composition
• Review the assembly blueprints and accompanying shop order instructions to determine required welding mounts
• Determine the type of equipment and appropriate WPS
• Lay out, cut and fit material for welding
• Review work both in progress and in a completed state as to quality and conformance to specifications
• Display a core competency in the system skid fabrication process
• Assist Engineering on any questions related to the WPS or fabricated components
• Adhere to general plant safety/5S practices

Requirements

• Requires a thorough knowledge of welding techniques and material characteristics
• High School or GED is required

Qualifications

• Five years of welding with preferred experience with austenitic, super austenitic and precipitation hardening stainless steels is preferred or relevant experience and/or education
• Vocational Desired or relevant experience and/or education
