About the role
The Welder performs a variety of duties and utilizes multiple skillsets. Responsibilities include weld preparation, welding, and fabrication of weldments, such as cutting, grinding, and finish welding operations. The position also involves blueprint reading, technical drawing interpretation, and precision measurement.
Responsibilities
- Reads and understands blueprints, isometric drawings and work orders.
- Carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads.
- Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job functions.
- Accurately uses precision measuring instruments and works to exacting tolerances.
- Knows and uses common hand tools and metal fabrication equipment.
- Sets up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition.
- Executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities.
- Performs on the job training, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required.
- Be at work on time and maintain good attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
- Must be able to understand and comply with JI Safety Practices.
- Must be able to identify and obtain equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job functions.
- Must be able to accurately use precision measuring instruments and work to exacting tolerances.
- Must be able to know and use common hand tools and metal fabrication equipment.
- Must be able to set up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction.
- Must be able to maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition.
- Must be able to properly execute Hazardous Material Disposal activities.
- Must be able to perform on the job training, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required.
- Must be able to be at work on time and maintain good attendance.
- Must be able to perform other duties as assigned.

Relevant Military Backgrounds (Encouraged, But Not Limited To): Navy Hull Maintenance Technician (HT), Navy Machinery Repairman (MR), Marine Corps Metal Worker (1316), Air Force Aircraft Metals Technology (2A7X1), Army Allied Trades Specialist (91E), Army Aircraft Powertrain Repairer (15D), Coast Guard Machinery Technician (MK), and other maintenance MOSs with welding or fabrication experience.
