Welder Night Shift

About the role

Cornwall Building Brands is seeking a production welder to join our team. This position involves engaging in various MIG weld processes on structural steel, including but not limited to rigid frame columns, rafters, pipe, beam canopy rafters, small parts, clips, and special assemblies. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of welding techniques and possess a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Engage in MIG weld processes on structural steel
• Read blueprints and shop standard to coordinate welder settings, gun speed, travel, and gas flow
• Train and teach proper welding procedures
• Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment
• Ensure continuous improvement practices in work area
• Meet deadlines and collaborate effectively within a team

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• One (1) year of experience welding in a production environment or valid welding certification
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings
• Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification
• Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation (a plus)
• Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools
• Willingness to train, certify, and operate forklift and overhead crane
• Basic mathematical knowledge and proficiency with measuring instruments
