Welder: Marine Hull Repair Job Summary Core Group Resources is hiring experienced Welders for a marine repair shipyard. You'll repair and fabricate steel on towboats and barges. This role suits experienced welders who are comfortable with structural hull work in a production setting. Responsibilities Weld steel plate and structural members on barge and towboat hulls, decks, and internalsPerform SMAW, FCAW, and carbon arc gouging in all positionsPrepare joints by cutting, grinding, and gouging out damaged steelWork from repair specifications and direction from foremen and fittersInspect your own welds for quality and correct defectsFollow yard safety, hot-work, and confined-space procedures Requirements Experience welding in a shipyard, marine repair, or heavy structural settingAbility to weld in all positionsComfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spacesWilling to work the assigned day, evening, or night shiftAble to pass pre-employment screening Preferred Requirements AWS or comparable weld certificationFitting experienceInland river shipyard experience
