Guidelines for Structure Welder Journeyperson 4 (Welder)
- Knowledge of welding on different types of base metals (HY-80 & HY-100).
- Proficiency in using SMAW, GMAW and FCAW welding processes.
- Acceptable quality of weld for Non-Destructive Testing (N.D.T.).
- Ability to weld steel, aluminum, copper nickel, and stainless steel.
- Ability to read weld gauges.
- Use of hand tools.
- Guidance from supervision may be needed.
- Knowledge of Standard Item 1689 and guidelines of 5S.
About the Role
This position is located in Norfolk, Virginia and operates on a shift schedule of 0600 to 1445 with a 45-minute lunch break. Security clearance is not required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Welding on different types of base metals (HY-80 & HY-100).
- Using SMAW, GMAW and FCAW welding processes.
- Maintaining acceptable quality of weld for N.D.T.
- Welding steel, aluminum, copper nickel, and stainless steel.
- Reading and understanding weld gauges.
- Using hand tools.
- Receiving guidance from supervision when necessary.
- Understanding Standard Item 1689 and guidelines of 5S.
Requirements
