Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural steel support frame assemblies for packaged pumping systems using GMAW/MIG process.
- Perform hand tool and power tool operations.
- Read and interpret print drawings.
- Operate structural welding in flat and vertical down positions.
- Use general plasma torch for burning/cutting and cut/drill/thread steel.
- Operate overhead crane and hoist.
- Perform structural welding in overhead positions.
- Use plasma torch for beveling pipe.
- Weld stainless and black pipe (non-ASME).
Requirements
- Completion of five (5) years on the job experience, or welding technology course plus 3 years on the job experience.
- Proficient in the use of both gas and electric welding equipment.
- Proficient in the use of cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping and threading machinery.
- Able to read and follow fabrication drawings without supervision.
- Five (5) years’ experience in “job shop” production welding of structural assemblies.
- Five (5) years’ experience in welding of pressurized hydraulic assemblies and piping.
- Must possess the ability to perform proper computer functions.
- Must perform to established production rates.
