About the role
Tig Welder-Intermediate Level position available at GE Vernova's Gas Power Manufacturing plant in Greenville, SC.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, arrange, fit, and assemble a variety of materials (stainless, nickel alloy, Hast-X) and components using tig welding processes and procedures
- Strong assessment of weld parameter inputs with the ability to make adjustments during welding
- Interpret and execute production using drawings and blueprints
- Complete necessary paperwork and computer entries accurately and in a timely manner after completing work orders
- Perform precision measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs
- Collaborate in a team environment focused on lean manufacturing, safety, and productivity
- Take ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and efficiency
- Utilize computer programs to enter part data (e.g., serial number), log time, and look up work instructions
- Utilize work instructions, set-up sheets, fixtures and method documents to correctly set up parts to be welded
- Able to work overtime, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Able to work occasional weekend shifts, with or without reasonable accommodation
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited welding program OR 2-5 years of industrial welding experience
- Ability to read blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measurement equipment
- Proficient in TIG (GTAW) welding and able to pass the weld test
- Willingness to work 2nd shift (2 PM – 10:30 PM, M-F) and overtime when needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and wear PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)
