About the role
A Welder II plays a critical role in ensuring our ASME pressure vessels exceed all applicable quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to grow your skills across a wide variety of projects in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Use various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding based on blueprint or drawing specifications
- Set up welding machines according to job requirements or Welding Procedure Specifications
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements and appropriate welding processes
- Set up and maintain welding equipment, including preparing materials and configuring devices or robots
- Ensure work is performed safely and meets quality standards
- Follow, create, and help maintain Welding Procedure Specifications
- Operate production machinery or assist machine operators
- Assemble and fit components as instructed by supervisor
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, and properly care for equipment and facilities
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in welding is preferred
- Professional certification from recognized organizations like the American Welding Society (AWS) is advantageous
- 3–5 years of welding experience
- 2+ years of experience with MIG, TIG, and/or Sub Arc welding
- Proficiency in various welding techniques, knowledge of metallurgy, material properties, and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Welding test will be administered
