What Will You Do?
- Independently performs moderate to complex welding activities, including hand welding and material handling equipment
- Welds metal parts on fixtures including attaching jigs and clamps to hold metal parts in proper position
- Determines type and gauge of steel to be welded making appropriate heat adjustments, as required, on large thickness variations
- Updates and maintains all required documentation associated with job responsibilities
- Afford responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment
- Maintains a clean work area and general housekeeping standards, such as care for assigned tools and proper disposal of hazardous waste
- Understands and practices established safety and quality standard procedures, including utilization of chemical solutions to clean containers
- Performs all tasks to ISO standards and requirements
- May be required to perform mass spec and visual inspections meeting stringent visual requirements
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this role, including close vision. color evaluations and the ability to adjust to focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
- Medium to loud noise level in the work environment.
Required
- A minimum of 2 years of TIG welding experience
- Must pass 3G vertical weld test and other weld tests including square butt, fillet, and groove joints depending on specific job requirements
- Experience interpreting blueprints and bill of materials (BOM)
- Basic math skills (weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division)
- Self-starter capable of managing workload under minimal direction and supervision
- Must be able to measure with accuracy using tape measures, micrometers and calipers
- Overtime and weekend hours, as needed
Preferred
- High School diploma or GED
- Familiar with ISO procedures
- Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations
