Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Entry-Level Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in welding techniques and a keen eye for detail. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform welding tasks using various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and FCAW.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time.

  • Task-specific PPE selection and safe work habits.
  • Hand safety and hazardous communication.
  • Grinding safety and control of hazardous energy (LOTO).
  • Forklift safe operations and crane pre-use inspection/operation.
  • Crane rigging, slings, and lift devices.
  • Compressed gas cylinder safety and machine guarding.
  • Basic computer skills (e-mail, safety skills, Workday).
  • Knowledge of waste streams (scrap metal, environmental) and welding fume extraction.
  • JSA comprehension and sign-off.
  • Understanding of hot work permitted areas and housekeeping.
  • Proficiency in using common hand tools and measuring tools (tape measure, scale).
  • Basic shop math (measurements, geometry, volume, area).
  • Weld preparation (removal of scale and oil, grinding of bevels and fit-up).
  • Weld filler identification, blueprint interpretation, and weld symbols.
  • Able to locate and use SOPs.
  • Basic machine maintenance and pre-use inspection.
  • Welding machine setup and functionality.
  • Use of fixturing and rotary tables.
  • Material handling and oxygen/acetylene operations.
  • Basic welding of steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and aluminum.
  • Spot welding and fabrication to 1/8-inch tolerance.
  • Pressure check operations and chop saw operations.
  • Shear operations, plate roller operations, hand break, foot shear, swaging, and flaring.
  • Hydraulic press and tube bending (90 degrees).
  • Ability to meet production standards.

Minimal Requirements

  • No previous experience is required.
  • Basic knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, FCAW).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Work Environment

Manufacturing plant with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
