Job Description
- Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements
- Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and schematics, and works from sketches or verbal instructions
- Performs free-hand MIG welding
- Performs complex assembly of machines
- Performs machining to complete the welding task
- Affords assistance in developing and building jigs and fixtures
- Uses basic hand tools such as a tape measure, squares, drill, and grinder
- Has basic computer skills to access drawings on a computer
- Assists other departments as needed
- Works with and coordinates activities with other job classifications
- Follows safe work practices and all environmental and health & safety policies and procedures
- Reads and understands shop orders and bill of materials (BOMs)
- Understands how the tools and materials replenishment system operates
- Understands the KanBan system
- High School Diploma/GED
- Able to demonstrate a successful MIG weld
- Able to complete a fabrication sample
- Basic mathematical skills
- Working Hours - Monday through Friday 5:45am to 2:15pm
- Compensation - We offer a competitive hourly rate of $29.00, which is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles.
