Welder I - 2nd Shift - Seasonal

Major Responsibilities

  • Comply with the company/site safety rules.
  • Perform safe and effective operation of all equipment needed to perform job function.
  • Flex across different products and areas to support business needs.
  • Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.
  • Follow established procedures, processes, or policies.
  • Interpret and understand engineering drawings and blueprints to accurately execute welding tasks.
  • Assist with robotic welder.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or Certification.
  • Work Experience:
    • Welder I: Internal written and physical weld test, basic welding experience and/or training, basic knowledge of Mig Welding Equipment, ability to follow direction and work in a team environment.
    • Welder II: 1 year of experience in a production welding environment and successful completion of internal weld test, working towards apprenticeship or certification, manufacturing experience, knowledge of manufacturing processes or related experience, basic knowledge of Mig and Tig Welding Equipment, crane certification.
    • Welder III: 2 years of experience in a production welding environment and successful completion of internal weld test, experience in root cause problem-solving, advanced mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues and systematically work toward resolution.
    • Welder IV: 3 Years of experience in advanced welding with successful completion of internal weld test, advanced mechanical aptitude, ability to understand complex issues and systematically work toward resolution, welding certification/technical diploma.
  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Math knowledge and ability to count parts, understand hook types and when to send to burn, intermediate mechanical aptitude, general computer skills.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
  • The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
  • Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
