Welder Foreman

About the role

Welder Foreman position. Must have minimum three years’ experience running pipe and structural welding crews as well as experience with pipe fitting, assembly of boilers, tanks, and pressure vessels according to blueprint specifications or manuals. Researches technical drawings/diagrams/materials to ensure appropriate parts pulled for a specific job. Capable of communicating job scope and progress with customer and company management.

Responsibilities

• Subject Matter Expert in ASME code SMAW and GTAW welding.
• Proficient with cutting torch and able to carbon arc gouge.
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specs, using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
• Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
• Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.
• Locate and mark work piece bending and cutting lines, allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
