Welder/Fitter, SWING Shift M-Th 4:30 pm - 3:00 am

About the role

The Welder/Fitter is responsible for fitting, aligning, and welding structural tube and plate assemblies according to engineered drawings and weld procedures.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld structural tube assemblies and components per fabrication drawings and WPS requirements.
• Perform layout, cutting, grinding, and preparation of materials.
• Work independently or as part of a fabrication team to meet production schedules.
• Inspect welds for conformance and report nonconformities to supervision.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and shop protocols.
• Identify potential safety risks in the work area and take proactive steps to eliminate or report them.
• Follow approved safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Support and comply with the company’s Integrated Management System, which aligns with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Safety) standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of welding certification program or equivalent hands-on welding experience (1–2 years preferred).
• AWS D1.1 or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Basic proficiency in MIG (GMAW) and/or Flux Core (FCAW) welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move about the fabrication shop and production floor for extended periods (up to 10 hours per day).
• Occasionally required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
