Welder / Fabricator / Pipe Fitter

About the role

Founded in 1975, Salas O’Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on achieving impact for our clients, our team, and the world. Working out of our Northern Colorado facility, you will be responsible for shop and field fabrication of stainless-steel equipment & piping including but not limited to: accurately fabricating stainless steel components from raw materials to a finished product by use of Water Jet Cutter, various finish/polishing machines and TIG welding; interpreting shop prints and transferring to a finished product; working to a high quality/finish standard as most components will be fabricated to a USDA Dairy standard; collaborating with team members to accomplish fabrication tasks to meet agreed schedules; and applying good math skills to calculate angles and offsets. Location: Northern Colorado. Travel: Up to 10% some travel will be required to support tight‑deadline projects and continuity of a project that moves from a shop to the end‑user’s facility.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fabricate stainless steel components from raw materials to a finished product using Water Jet Cutter, finish/polishing machines, and TIG welding.
• Interpret shop prints and transfer to a finished product.
• Maintain high quality/finish standards (USDA Dairy).
• Work with team members to meet agreed schedules.
• Apply math skills to calculate angles and offsets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (preferred).
• Ability to TIG weld proficiently.
• Open to in‑house training.
• Ability to drive a forklift.
• Clean driving record (preferred).
• Self‑starter.
• Detail oriented.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work environment depends on position: shop associates will be ~90% in the shop; field associates ~90% in the field. Physical demands include the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this role is $21.00 – $40 USD per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and location. This role is also eligible for performance‑based bonuses.
