About the role
In this role, your mission is to operate cranes, weld product, and maintain welding tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the company’s quality and production standards.
Responsibilities
- Layout, position, align and fit components into welding fixture as instructed.
- Set-up gas-shield, MIG-weld and weld parts to job specifications.
- Read, interpret and understand blueprints and welding symbols to complete job assignments.
- Use hand tools, clamps and grinders to perform job tasks.
- Complete basic maintenance on welding equipment.
- Adhere to all safety, health and environmental procedures, policies and practices.
- Perform any other duties within the employee’s capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in a heavy-duty machining or manufacturing environment (preferred but not required).
- Ability to read a tape measure and blueprints.
- Demonstrated skill level in wire feed (MIG) welding.
- Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions.
- Ability to layout parts using weld fixtures.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills.
