Responsibilities

• Interpret and follow detailed written and verbal instructions related to welding and fabricating metal components used in the assembly of distribution transformers.
• Tasks are performed according to layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, welding procedures, or oral directions using various welding equipment.
• Candidates must have prior training or experience and be capable of safely and properly starting up, operating, maintaining, and shutting down equipment.
• The role requires repeated lifting and moving of materials weighing over 50 lbs., with or without assistance from lifting devices.
• Use of hand and power tools is essential to complete assigned tasks.
• All welds and assembled products must meet ERMCO’s quality standards.
• Adhere to all ERMCO safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow and understand both written and verbal instructions.
• Effective communication skills in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in using electronic communication devices such as iPads.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measurement.
• Ability to lift/push over 50 lbs. and pull up to 110 lbs.
• Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling.
• Skilled in using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers (digital and manual).
• Proficient in using hand and power tools including drills, air ratchets, wrenches, pliers, and hammers.
• Experience operating overhead hoists and lift assist equipment.
• Visual acuity of 20/40 (with or without corrective lenses), normal peripheral vision of at least 70 degrees, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Compliance with all plant safety policies and department-specific safety rules.
• Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety toe shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, weld hood, and hearing protection.
