About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GTAW Welder to join our production team. In this role, you will be trained to perform high-quality precision welding on thin-gauge materials. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with foundational welding and fabrication skills to develop an advanced career in aerospace welding, working in a structured, process-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate welding equipment: position parts in jigs or fixtures, select appropriate welding tools and materials, and set up welding equipment according to technical drawings and WPS parameter ranges; use power tools and chemical solvents to clean filler material, base material, and previously welded material prior to welding.
  • Perform welding operations: execute manual, semiautomatic, mechanized, and automatic GTAW welding operations on various thin-gauge materials including 4130 steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium.
  • Inspect and repair welds: examine welds according to visual weld inspection and commercial quality criteria; check all dimensional criteria regarding welding with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, borescopes, and gages; clean parts and repair welds based on rejection sheets and NDT analysis (Visual, Fluorescent Penetrant, and Radiographic Inspections).
  • Follow safety and compliance standards: adhere to company rules and regulations, including Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, and International Trade Compliance; maintain a clean work area.
  • Support and train: assist in training other welders, plan and perform a variety of welding operations, interpret technical documents, and use computer-controlled welding equipment as needed.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires high school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D in the U.S.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • 1+ years of GTAW welding experience and/or 1+ years of welding fabrication experience.
  • Associate’s degree in welding or a certificate from a vocational/technical welding program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of GTAW welding experience on material less than 1/16″.
  • Associate’s degree in welding or a certificate from a vocational/technical welding program.
  • Experience with automatic, mechanized, semiautomatic, and manual welding.
  • Familiarity with AWS D17.1 Welding Code.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • A strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 35 lbs (as allowed by EH&S).

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 3:30 pm – 11:30 pm (overtime may be required).
  • Weekend overtime required.
