About the role
- Weld 14g to 18g sheet metal using 100% MIG and 80% TIG welding skills.
- Set up and operate welding equipment according to blueprints or product specifications.
- Test and adjust equipment relying on knowledge and experience.
- Read prints, work orders, or production schedules to determine specifications such as quantity, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Interpret welding symbols and align components using calipers, rulers, and other tools.
- Clamp pieces and perform periodic checks on output; measure completed parts to verify conformance to specifications including squareness, heat penetration, and distortion.
- Use measuring instruments with 100% accuracy.
- Maintain high productivity and produce quality parts.
- Operate and calibrate spot welding and stud welding equipment according to material thickness and stud sizes.
- Perform daily and weekly cleaning and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment performance and prevent downtime.
- Work under minimal to no supervision.
- Set up programming for machines.
- Identify equipment, production, or parts issues; troubleshoot with management and appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- 2-3 years of experience with welding operations, preferably TIG.
- Experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
Physical demands
- Stand, walk, and lift for up to 8 hours daily.
- Vision abilities require close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.
- May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.

Schedule
- Full-time, hourly position.
- 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday (day shift).
