About the role
The Welder performs MIG welding on metal components using blueprints and production specifications to meet production and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintains welding equipment making adjustments to weld different parts or subassemblies
- Performs various simple welding operations (i.e. pins, knuckles, joints) following blueprint weld symbols with limited supervision
- Moves parts and/or workpiece manually, by crane and secures workpiece in weld fixture or table using clamps and wrenches
- Produces component parts to blueprint tolerances
- Performs quality control inspections and cleans welded components
- Prepares surfaces to be welded and works with blueprints to verify accuracy of pre-assembled metal components to be welded
- Positions or tightens braces, jacks, clamps, cable slings, or may bolt parts in position for welding or riveting
Requirements
- Knowledge of basic procedures of MiG welding and cutting tools
- Knowledge and understanding of basic procedures of voltage and amperage for given requirements
- Must possess basic math skills
- Skilled in the operation of grinders and deburring equipment
- Able to perform standard measurements using a tape measure and other measurement devices
- Able to weld simple assemblies with little supervision
- Able to read blueprints with weld symbols and specifications
- Able to lift and position fabricated metal parts manually, using a crane
- Able to wear personal protective equipment
- Able to work overtime and/or including weekends as production schedules dictate
- Able to weld vertical and down
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of previous welding experience
Skills
- Knowledge of basic procedures of MiG welding and cutting tools

- Competitive wages ranging from 23/hr to $27/hr
