About the role

Stupp Bridge Company, a division of Stupp Bros., Inc., is a leader in steel fabrication specializing in plate girder fabrication for bridges. We are seeking a Welder to join our team in Bowling Green, KY.

What We Offer

• 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts
• 2nd Shift: 4-day work week, Monday – Thursday
• Weekly pay on Fridays
• $21 – $30 pay range, plus $1 shift premium (pay based on verifiable experience that includes a weld test)

Responsibilities

• Join steel parts together using any combination of weld processes
• Pass three weld certification tests involving SMAW, FCAW, and SAW (SMAW & FCAW: 1" thick in 3G position; SAW: 1G position)
• Pass visual, RT, and bend inspection on all weld tests
• Use grinders and other hand/pneumatic tools
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Must pass certification test
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to perform simple math and read weld symbols

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Work in a standing position during a regular 8 to 10 hour day
• Use, pull, and guide material with the aid of overhead cranes or jib hoists
• Hold welding guns or stingers in hand to perform all welding operations
• Handle up to 20 pounds on a constant basis throughout the day, 20 to 50 pounds frequently, and 50 to 100 pounds occasionally
• Push, pull, bend, squat, stoop, and twist comfortably many times throughout the day
• Tolerate ambient air temperatures during all times of the year
• Communicate with fellow workers regarding instructions, general work assignments, and safety concerns
