Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
- Follow established WPS and PQR procedures to perform MIG/FCAW (Gas Metal Arc) and TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc) welding operations for prototype or production jobs.
- Program, set up, and run various welding machines.
- Interpret weld symbols, place welds correctly, mount fixtures, load parts, close clamps, and start a basic welding cycle.
- Competent in blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Proficient in welding up to 1 inch thick aluminum and various thicknesses of stainless steel plates, tubing, etc.
- Recognize equipment and product problems, notify supervisor, and troubleshoot errors to achieve optimal production levels.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 5 years of precision welding experience with multiple materials types required
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals (SOP’s)
- ASME Section 9 certification beneficial
- AWS certifications beneficial (D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6)
- Proficient with measuring tools and validating work against print specifications
- Ability to set up and maintain all welding machines and tools
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Pay
Salary Range (annual): $60000 - $75000
