About the role
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for welding and fitting components to exacting standards, ensuring all work meets build specifications and quality expectations in line with BS EN ISO 9001.
Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG and MAG welding on medium-heavy steel fabrications (2mm–10mm)
- Build and tack weld fabrications from engineering drawings
- Identify and correct visual faults in fabrications
- Promote a proactive approach to quality and team collaboration
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, using PPE appropriately
- Support team leaders with recovery programmes and continuous improvement
- Be flexible in moving between departments and learning new skills
Requirements
Experience in MIG & MAG welding and medium-heavy steel fabrication
Welding/fabrication qualifications and relevant training
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and build specifications
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Self-disciplined, punctual, and reliable
Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and areas
Qualifications
BSEN 287 coded welding and pendant crane operation are desirable
