WELDER

Responsibilities

• Weld together components as specified by blueprints, diagrams, or oral instructions using gas metal arc welding equipment.
• Operate Safety Equipment and use safe work habits.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Ignite torches, start power supplies, and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being worked, completing electrical circuits.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt components to obtain the required configurations and positions for welding.
• Detect faulty equipment or materials and notify supervisors.
• Operate manual welding equipment to fuse metal segments using gas metal arc or plasma arc welding processes.
• Examine and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
• Lay out, positions, align, and secure parts and assemblies using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
• Understand and construct product based on engineering drawings and models.
• Review outsourced material in compliance with drawings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in welding.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
