Responsibilities
- Weld together components as specified by blueprints, diagrams, or oral instructions using gas metal arc welding equipment.
- Operate Safety Equipment and use safe work habits.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Ignite torches, start power supplies, and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being worked, completing electrical circuits.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt components to obtain the required configurations and positions for welding.
- Detect faulty equipment or materials and notify supervisors.
- Operate manual welding equipment to fuse metal segments using gas metal arc or plasma arc welding processes.
- Examine and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
- Lay out, positions, align, and secure parts and assemblies using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
- Understand and construct product based on engineering drawings and models.
- Review outsourced material in compliance with drawings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience in welding.
- Must be able to pass a drug test.

- Ability to follow safety procedures.
