Position Summary
The TIG Welder is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of stainless-steel components used in Scepter Crossflow Filtration products. This role ensures products are manufactured in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with housekeeping standards.
- Perform TIG welding operations to produce products that meet quality and requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using measuring instruments and gauges to verify compliance with product specifications.
- Accurately document production activities, inspections, and completed work.
- Track and report raw material usage associated with finished products.
- Identify, document, and communicate quality concerns to appropriate personnel, providing relevant information to support the disposition of nonconforming materials.
- Ensure all manufacturing and documentation activities comply with ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- A welding certification or a minimum of two (2) years of TIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments, including calipers, tape measures, and other inspection tools.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including fractions, decimals, and measurements.
- A strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Schedule
Ability to work overtime as needed, including extended shifts, weekdays, weekends, and scheduled or unscheduled production demands.
