Welder

Reports to: Production Supervisor

About the role

The Welder will be responsible for reading blueprints, tacking materials, and assisting other welders/fabricators to ensure on-time and high-quality items are fabricated to multiple end users.

Responsibilities

• Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
• Performs the welding and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
• Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
• Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
• Quality control to meet customer and internal standards.
• Ability to work in a safe manner consistent with OSHA Standards.
• Ability to work efficiently.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of 0-1 years of relative experience required.
• Experienced with MIG welding.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other shop drawings required.
• Computer literacy and ability to read a tape measure.
• Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to meet all deadlines even with changing priorities.
• Continuous improvement and quality focus.
• Previous use of manual and power hand tools required.
