Welder

About the role
The Welder will be responsible for reading blueprints, tacking materials, and assisting other welders/fabricators to ensure on-time and high-quality items are fabricated to multiple end users.
Responsibilities
- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Performs the welding and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
- Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Quality control to meet customer and internal standards.
- Ability to work in a safe manner consistent with OSHA Standards.
- Ability to work efficiently.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 0-1 years of relative experience required.
- Experienced with MIG welding.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other shop drawings required.
- Computer literacy and ability to read a tape measure.
- Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to meet all deadlines even with changing priorities.
- Continuous improvement and quality focus.
- Previous use of manual and power hand tools required.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and will frequently work in extreme hot, cold, wet, and/or noisy conditions where material particles from grinding and other operations may be present.
