Responsibilities
The basic function of this role includes performing preventative maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant and supporting efforts of Welder, Mechanic. Tasks include welding, mechanics, and fabrication. Welding will be the primary responsibility of the welder position.
- Inspect machinery to ensure proper function
- Communicate with machine operators to troubleshoot identified problems
- Notify plant area of work to be performed to get area locked out and obtain appropriate permits
- Perform preventative maintenance on and lubricate equipment
- Perform lock-out tag-out test
- Repair malfunctioning or broken equipment
- Perform welding, including stick, MIG, plasma cutter, and oxygen/acetylene torch
- Perform rigging
- Fabricate machine guards to improve operational safety of machinery and equipment
- Fabricate hoppers for materials
- Mentor/train new maintenance employees
- Prepare paperwork associated with job assignment, job status, and job completion
- Operate forklift, cherry picker, skid steer, manlifts
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications

- High School Diploma or Equivalent or completion of Apprenticeship Program or Technical Trade School
- 4 years’ experience in maintenance field or industrial environment
- Basic knowledge and experience in repairing and maintaining stationary equipment
- Ability to comply with company and MSHA rules and regulations
- Ability to work in team environments
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Applications; ability to learn new software programs

Must frequently lift, push, pull, or carry tools, heavy cables, and materials weighing up to 50lbs., with occasional lifting requirements of 70-80lbs.
