General Expectations

Welders in the Frame Shop are responsible for MIG welding frames, stick welding to camber, using a plasma cutter to cut I-beam for homes built at Plant 995, Plant 996, and the Middlebury plant. They ensure all homes meet sales orders, prints, specifications, and building codes, maintaining high-quality standards in a timely manner.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Safety: Practice safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe, adhering to all relevant OSHA regulations.
  • Productivity: Work in a team environment to produce products that meet quality standards and achieve productivity objectives.
  • Stewardship: Serve as a good steward of company assets, protecting them from damage and misuse, reporting maintenance needs, keeping assigned areas clean and orderly.
  • Planning: Assist Team Leader and Area Manager in planning and organizing manufacturing activities, communicating anticipated material shortages, required tool maintenance, and addressing quality and productivity issues.
  • Attendance: Meet all attendance requirements, be available for start of shift at required time, and follow attendance rules and regulations of the plant.

Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities Required

  • Able to walk, climb, and lift at least 50 lbs., as well as perform other physical duties as needed.
  • Able to communicate efficiently and clearly with other Team Members.
  • Desired ability to read architectural and engineering drawings.

Education And Qualifications

  • STIG & MIG welding experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Pay

Starting wage for this role is $20 an hour plus rate.
