About the role
This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus!
Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 3 pm-11:30 pm.
Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Clean and prepare all detail materials for EB Weld processing.
- Position and fasten work pieces onto holding fixtures.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, attachments, accessories onto machines.
- Follow the customer's specific instructions and specifications.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Prepare and analyze the necessary weld specimens to determine weld characteristics and adjust weld settings to achieve desired results with some assistance from QC personnel and the EB Supervisor.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to help diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
- Perform basic machine maintenance as required to maintain part quality and quantity standards.
- Perform troubleshooting and technically assist with tasks as assigned by the EB Supervisor.
- The ability to operate all in-house welding equipment.
- Maintain records and document in process inspection data as required.
- Work with a variety of materials, including steel, copper, aluminum, titanium, Inconel and other precious metals.
- Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
- Brings any irregularity to Leadperson for management
- Promotes safety and good housekeeping practices
- Maintains a safe and responsible work environment to prevent customer loss or damage.
Qualifications
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
- Education – High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of GTAW or TIG welding experience and some Aerospace industry experience desired but not required.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language
- Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required
Physical & Mental Demands
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an office/industrial environment
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone
Pay & Benefits Information
The hourly pay range for this position is $ 25 – $31.25 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.
This role is eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential.
