Welder, 3rd Shift Monday-Thursday

About the role

Wieland Provides, Inc. manufactures major components for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) companies worldwide. We are hiring 3rd shift Welders Level I, II, and III. The welders will work from shop drawings, procedures, or other written, verbal, or electronic instructions to perform a wide variety of operations associated with welded assembly of final products, sub-assemblies, and components. Responsibilities include adherence to ASME Code Safety Regulations, maintaining equipment and facilities in a safe and clean manner, and preparing and maintaining records regarding safety, quality, productivity, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts and tack and weld components into assemblies following production orders.
• Execute welds in accordance with company procedures and documents while meeting defined quality standards.
• Maintain a safe and organized working environment.
• Properly maintain tools and equipment assigned to perform duties.

Level I Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience or commensurate education from a trade school.
• Capable of MIG and TIG welding of parts and pipe, but not yet certified with the company for welding parts under pressure.
• Ability to read and apply WPS and read drawings.
• Strong aptitude for problem solving and teamwork.
• Methodical, organized, and precise.
• Proactive in proposing solutions.
• Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
• Perform work in a heavy industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, work from an elevated platform, and working in cramped quarters (e.g., inside vessels).
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety eyewear, safety footwear, face shield, welding helmet, welding gloves, welding sleeves/jacket, welding apron/chaps.
• MIG/TIG @ 6G preferred with a minimum of 1 year of pipe welding experience.

Level II Qualifications

• At least 3–5 years of experience in MIG and TIG welding of pipe or pressure vessels.
• Experience and certification in welding in accordance with ASME standards and certified with the company for welding parts under pressure.
• Ability to read and apply WPS and read drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor issues related to fitting and welding components.

Level III Qualifications

• At least 5+ years of experience in MIG and TIG welding of pipe or pressure vessels (certified experience).
• Experience and certification in welding in accordance with ASME standards.
• Ability to train other welders.
• Ability to read and apply WPS, read drawings, and teach others to do so.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fitting and welding components.
• Strong aptitude for problem solving and teamwork.

Physical Demands

• Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching.

• Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and hand-eye coordination.

Pay

Starting pay ranges from $28.00 to $39.00 per hour, with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualifications. A 3rd shift differential of $1.50 per hour is included.

Schedule

3rd shift schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 pm–6:00 am. Training schedule: 1st shift, Monday–Thursday.
