About the Role
A Welder 2 at MKS partners with the Welding department, Engineering, and Quality Control to fabricate various MKS products. In this role, you will report to the Welding Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom products and modify products to customer specifications.
- Plan, lay out, and perform welding on a variety of stainless-steel valves, gauges, and other components.
- Collaborate with engineers in custom product design for production.
- Complete fabrication and assembly welding from blueprints, verbal, and written instructions.
- Modify standard valves and components per application and engineering specifications.
Schedule
- Option 1: (4) 10-hour days, Monday - Thursday: 3:30 PM - 1:30 AM.
- Option 2: (5) 8-hour days, Monday - Friday: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.
- Training will be three weeks on first shift.
Requirements
- 2+ years of related experience.
- TIG welding experience.
- Ability to utilize complicated drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in advanced mathematics and a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Trade knowledge equivalent to training in a formal apprenticeship program.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Perform activities such as sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination.
- Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for 35% of the time.
- Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level.
- Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information.
- Constantly operates welding machinery.
- Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually high.
- Regular interaction with hazardous materials, necessitating adherence to strict safety standards and personal protective equipment usage, including helmets, gloves, and protective glasses.
Pay
Pay Range: $18.89 - $31.49 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on qualifications, experience, training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS.
