Responsibilities

  • Repair parts/components that are non-conforming to customer specification by welding, grinding, or other methods as required.
  • Operate a spot-welding machine to join or repair sheet metal/steel parts or components.
  • Calibrate welding equipment.
  • Maintain tools in good working order.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Tag parts.
  • Move parts to correct location in the plant/facility.
  • Participate in preventative actions where appropriate.
  • Utilize Plexus (ERP system).
  • Conduct housekeeping for personal work area or shared facility space.
  • Maintain welding equipment.
  • Update and relay pertinent information to shift supervisor and oncoming shift.
  • Ensure coverage when absent and be at work when scheduled.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely and effectively perform job duties, including following work instructions, safety procedures, and company communications.
  • 3-5 years in relevant work experience.
  • Certified in MIG and/or TIG welding.

Schedule

This will be a 2nd Shift / Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM-10:30 PM position located at our plant in Walker, MI. Occasionally, this may require you to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends, outside of regular hours, to ensure we successfully meet customer needs, deadlines, or urgent requests.
