About the role

We're seeking an experienced Weld Lead to oversee our Frame Welding Shop, balancing hands-on welding expertise with team leadership. You'll drive daily production activities while maintaining high safety and quality standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily welding operations, ensuring production schedules are met efficiently.
  • Perform hands-on welding, including fitting, welding, and grinding light-gauge sheet metal door frames with precision.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Mentor team members to develop skills and maintain high performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align schedules and address issues.
  • Uphold a safe work environment and ensure all work meets exacting quality standards.

Requirements

  • Strong welding experience, including MIG/GMAW and plasma cutting.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and a track record of process improvement.
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and relevant hands-on experience.
