Weekend Youth Flag Football Referee - South Inland Empire

Schedule

Part-time contractor position with weekend shifts for the season duration (approximately 7 weeks). Must demonstrate flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and evenings.

Pay

Starting pay rate: $18.00 per game. Payment is based on a game rate structure; weekly compensation is calculated by multiplying the established rate by the number of games completed. This is not a fixed salary or hourly wage.

Location

South Inland Empire (Rotating Seasonal Venues: Eastvale, Norco, Corona, Riverside, and Jurupa Valley). Applicants must have reliable personal transportation and full availability to travel to all venue locations within this cluster. Due to seasonal facility availability, we cannot accommodate staff who are only available for a single city or fixed location.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a fun, educational, and safe environment for all players by fully understanding and enforcing the i9 Sports rulebook.
• Promote sportsmanship and fair play through teaching and demonstrating core concepts.
• Set up and break down game/practice field equipment efficiently.
• Manage time and scorekeeping during games, tailoring instruction and competition to age-appropriate levels.
• Consistently demonstrate a positive and encouraging attitude towards players and colleagues.
• Provide superior customer service to participants and their families.
• Assist volunteer coaches during practice sessions by leading drills and answering questions.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive coaching environment.

Requirements

• Effectively interact with players, coaches, and spectators, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
• Possess at least 2 years of experience as a player, coach, or official in the specific sport.
• Demonstrate initiative and the ability to solve problems independently during shifts.
• Prioritize player safety by taking decisive action and displaying proactive awareness of potential risks.
• Maintain a cheerful and encouraging attitude while building strong relationships with players, coaches, and families.
• Possess a smartphone with internet access.
• Must successfully pass a National Criminal Background Check.
