Make a real difference in young athletes' lives as a Weekend Flag Football Official with i9 Sports! More than just calling flags, you'll be a mentor, coach, and role model, creating a fun and positive environment where kids can learn, grow, and love the game.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a fun, educational, and safe environment for all players by fully understanding and enforcing the i9 Sports rulebook.
- Promote sportsmanship and fair play through teaching and demonstrating core concepts.
- Set up and break down game/practice field equipment efficiently.
- Manage time and scorekeeping during games, tailoring instruction and competition to age-appropriate levels.
- Consistently demonstrate a positive and encouraging attitude towards players and colleagues.
- Provide superior customer service to participants and their families.
- Assist volunteer coaches during practice sessions by leading drills and answering questions.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive coaching environment.
Requirements
- Effectively interact with players, coaches, and spectators, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
- Possess at least 2 years of experience as a player, coach, or official in the specific sport.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to solve problems that arise during shifts independently.
- Prioritize player safety by taking decisive action and displaying proactive awareness of potential risks.
- Maintain a cheerful and encouraging attitude while building strong relationships with players, coaches, and families.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and evenings, for the season duration (approximately 7 weeks).
- Possess a smartphone with internet access.
- Must successfully pass a National Criminal Background Check.
- Reliable personal transportation and full availability to travel to all venue locations within the cluster (Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Fontana, Rialto, Chino Hills).
Schedule
- Part-time contractor role with weekend shifts.
- Season duration: approximately 7 weeks.
- Mandatory regional travel to rotating seasonal venues within the cluster cities.
Pay
Starting pay rate: $18.00 per game. Payment is based on a game rate structure; weekly compensation is calculated by multiplying the established rate by the number of games completed. Earnings are tied directly to active participation in scheduled games.
