Weekend Warehouse & Material Handling Supervisor
Position Summary
This position is responsible for directing and supervising all weekend warehouse and material handling operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and internal material flow. The role ensures timely, accurate movement of materials to support production and customer delivery while maintaining compliance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Essential Functions
Manage, hire, lead, train, and develop warehouse and material handling personnel in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws
Motivate staff, provide feedback, resolve issues, and recognize performance
Ensure personnel comply with departmental policies, procedures, and safety requirements
Direct and control shipping, receiving, and material handling activities
Ensure accurate and timely receipt, storage, issuing, and distribution of materials
Review inbound and outbound documentation (e.g., bills of lading, shipping documents) to plan and prioritize work activities
Plan and coordinate the movement and transfer of materials within the warehouse and between buildings
Ensure on-time delivery and proper packaging methods for all shipments
Establish and maintain procedures for: Verification of incoming/outgoing shipments, Inventory accuracy and control, Proper handling and disposition of materials, Maintain cycle count processes and inventory accuracy, Arrange for disposition or disposal of surplus or obsolete materials, Direct reclamation of damaged or defective materials
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Planning, and Purchasing to: Support manufacturing needs, Resolve material issues, Ensure availability of materials and timely deliveries, Follow up on open material requisitions and expedite critical parts
Systems, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Ensure all material transactions are completed accurately and timely in ERP/MRP systems
Utilize systems such as Shop Floor Control, MRP II (or MAC-PAC), CAD (as applicable), and Microsoft Office tools
Develop and implement process improvements related to material flow and warehouse efficiency
Maintain ISO 9001 documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards
Coordinate customs compliance activities, including trade documentation (e.g., NAFTA/USMCA certificates)
Financial & Operational Oversight
Support departmental budget management and cost control initiatives
Monitor key performance indicators (e.g., inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, productivity)
Recommended Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related field
Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or material handling operations
Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred

This is a weekend shift only - Saturdays and Sundays 7am to 7:30pm
