About the role
This role involves preparing the operating room and assisting the surgical team to successfully perform various surgical procedures for patients. Key responsibilities include setting up surgical equipment and instruments, assisting the surgical team, ensuring a sterile environment, and providing essential on-call support.Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize all surgical supplies, instruments, solutions, and medications.
- Meticulously organize sterile tables and anticipate surgical team needs.
- Perform accurate counts, manage specimens, and uphold the highest sterile technique.
- Ensure a safe environment, report issues, and assist with OR turnaround.
- Provide essential on-call support with a 30-minute response time.
Requirements
- Must possess a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) certification.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, pathophysiology, surgical asepsis, infection control, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication, manual dexterity, computer skills, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified surgical technologist program.
- Experience in a surgical setting preferred.
