Weekend Staffing Team-RN Level II position working 36 hours per week (2 shifts on the weekend and 1 shift during the week). Weekend shifts pay base rate plus $20/hour; weekday shift pays base rate. Additional shift differential of $4.25 and weekend differential of $5.75 when applicable.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency utilizing electronic health record and documents all aspects of patient care following established charting procedures to show patient progress or changes in condition.
- Adheres to system required standards of behavior and proper chain of command.
- Meets continuing education requirements and ensures compliance with clinical expectations of regulatory agency requirements (DNV, DHEC, CMS).
- Effectively communicates with patients, families, providers, and hospital associates.
- Knowledgeable in use of and response to Facility Alert, Medical Alert, and Medical Emergency Systems.
- Develops, implements, evaluates, and revises plan of care based on physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient/family.
- Provides a safe patient care environment and collaborates with patient, families, and other members of the health care team to determine patient priorities and treatments.
- Coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities.
- Initiates and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance outcomes.
- Seeks necessary assistance in completing nursing interventions to assure positive patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates competencies for new equipment, procedures, and annual competency validation.
- Successfully completes hospital and unit-based orientation programs and annual competencies.
- Formulates a plan for personal professional growth and recommends the need to develop or revise policies and procedures.
- Serves on unit-based committees as assigned.
- Prioritizes nursing interventions for an assigned group of patients.
- Critically assesses assigned patients' medical history, admitting diagnosis, physician's orders, obtains nursing history, performs physical assessment, evaluates diagnostic data, and interviews patient and family to determine patient needs.
- Properly assesses and prioritizes multiple patients according to severity of illness, injury, and/or needs.
- Able to assess, critically think, and provide quality patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Professionally interacts and communicates with patients from all age groups, diverse backgrounds, and varying educational levels, including those who may be confused, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative.
- Utilizes Nursing standards and protocols to manage and stabilize emergencies until provider responds.
- Demonstrates knowledge of professional nursing practice and theory.
- Assures continuity of care through effective decision-making resulting in quality patient care.
- Remains committed to unit, department, and division goals.
- Supports patient experience initiatives and participates in purposeful rounding, bedside shift reports, and huddles.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with clinical expectations regarding regulatory agency requirements (DNV, DHEC, CMS).
- Demonstrates appropriate standards of care, clinical pathways, and milestones to drive the plan of care.
- Complies with current policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Nursing.
- Current RN licensure in the State of South Carolina or Compact State.
- BLS certification (may secure post-hire).
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of recent RN experience within the past 5 years.
Pay
- Base rate plus $20/hour for weekend shifts.
- Base rate for weekday shift.
- Additional shift differential of $4.25 and weekend differential of $5.75 when applicable.
