Job Overview
The Weekend Shipping Assistant Supervisor supports the daily operations of the Shipping department. Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate and efficient material handling, team training, and resolving issues.
Highlights of Your Role
- Understand and support all receiving and shipping processes, including documentation, labeling, and material flow.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and shipping/receiving requirements.
- Operate and troubleshoot material handling equipment.
- Ensure team members are trained and certified on equipment use.
- Maintain accuracy of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure proper documentation and labeling of materials.
- Support resolution of quality issues related to shipping or receiving.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and PPE compliance.
- Communicate shift expectations, updates, and performance feedback to team members.
- Serve as a liaison between team members and leadership.
- Support team rotation and workload balancing across both departments.
- Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment.
- Identify and escalate operational issues or improvement opportunities.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day issues related to receiving, shipping, staffing, or equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges.
- Promote a culture of safety and integrity by consistently following all safety protocols, reporting hazards, and engaging in training and initiatives.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of professional experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Prior experience in leadership or team lead role is preferred.
- Training in safety and quality systems (e.g., OSHA basics, Lean principles).
- Knowledge of leadership development or coaching practices.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize daily responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in logistics and equipment operations.
- Ability to lead and coach team members effectively.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams and leadership.

Compensation
Starting at $27/hr, based on experience + $3 Shift Differential
