Weekend Shift - Outbound Material Handler - $25.00/hr

Job Summary

The Outbound Material Handler is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate order picking, consolidation, packing, and shipping.

Responsibilities

• Order Picker:
  • Drive PIT equipment to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all orders
  • Walk to assigned bins, identifying proper items and quantities for all orders
  • Pick orders properly in a timely manner with strong attention to detail
  • Use a scanner to verify and identify products and load onto a conveyor belt
• Consolidator:
  • Verify and identify products pulled by pickers and consolidate into totes
  • Organize and place consolidated products into put wall cubbies
  • Ensure customers receive complete orders in a short time frame
• Order Packer:
  • Use a scanner & SPS system to verify and identify products, pack orders properly, and bill/ship
  • Identify correct box sizes, minimize shipping costs, and ensure product quality and protection
  • Enter shipping information into the SPS system
  • Place completed packages on a packing belt or palletize finished shipments
• Truck Loader:
  • Accurately identify carriers based on labels on packages
  • Move palletized product to designated trucks if needed
  • Stack packages in trailers in an interlocking pattern
  • Lock and unlock trailers as needed
• Bundler Operator:
  • Tape/bundle fast track orders accurately and efficiently
  • Ship completed orders using conveyor belt system
  • Move palletized cases to secure areas if needed
  • Match correct quantities of product for respective orders to ensure accuracy

ALL OUTBOUND POSITIONS

• Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following safety guidelines and reporting any hazards
• Monitor equipment and report issues to ensure maintenance and fix by a trained technician when needed
• Work closely with team members and leadership to meet departmental goals
• Abide by company and warehouse policies
• Flex into other positions and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

Wage

Starting Wage is $25.00/hr, with the potential for a raise every 6 months up to $0.88.

Work Hours

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and walking up to 12 hours/day
• Ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
• Regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights (up to 75lbs)

Work Environment

• Moderate noise level in the work environment
• Passage of employees through the work area is average and normal

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required.
• Education: No degree required, but relevant skills and experience valued.

  • Follow all codes of conduct, safety parameters, productivity, and quality standards, as well as attendance policy
  • Complete and pass all equipment training
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Business proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
