Weekend RN Nursing Supervisor

Responsibilities
- Receive report on patient/resident status from the previous shift, evaluate needs, and ensure resources are in place.
- Conduct physical rounds to assess quality of care, intervene as needed, and interact with caregivers and patients/residents.
- Supervise charge nurses and other care providers in medication administration, nursing care, documentation, treatments, and supervision.
- Evaluate performance of charge nurses; provide coaching and discipline as needed.
- Assess and monitor to ensure patient/resident needs are met and policies/procedures are followed.
- Assess critically ill residents, report findings to physicians, record observations, and provide direct care if necessary.
- Respond to and coordinate actions in emergency situations.
- Act as department/center leader in the absence of the Director of Nursing Services or Administrator.
- Assist with root cause analysis and Quality Improvement/QAPI initiatives.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Provide empathetic communication to families and residents regarding changes in condition or care concerns.
- Ensure resident rights are respected.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Services.
Requirements
- Current license by the State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
- At least three years of nursing experience required; long-term care industry experience preferred.
- Ability to plan, supervise, and coordinate services.
- Strong interpersonal skills for supervising and instructing nursing personnel.
