Opportunity Overview

The Weekend Medical Assistant (Per Diem) position is available at Shady Grove Fertility in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The schedule varies as needed, including Saturdays and Sundays from 6:45 AM to 12:45 PM, with potential coverage for holidays.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Perform a high volume of phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions
  • Set up, stock, and maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
  • Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
  • Document patient care services utilizing daily logs, electronic medical records, and appropriate outside laboratory forms
  • Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels, ensuring orders for lab work are in place
  • Check patients in/out, answer phones, schedule appointments, and collect payments
  • Set up rooms for procedures, take vital signs, obtain patient height and weight, assist with procedures as needed, clean and stock rooms and care for equipment according to manufacturer and OSHA guidelines
  • Maintain patient medical records through the use of electronic medical records

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong phlebotomy skills required
  • High school diploma or completion of a certified or formal medical training program preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
