Weekend Lead Mechanical Millwright

About the role

Weyerhaeuser Company is accepting applications for Lead Maintenance Mechanical Millwrights-Weekends for our Greenville Lumber facility located in Grifton, NC. We are seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and a desire to work in a manufacturing facility. Pay is based on experience, with the ability to grow up to $38.67 per hour. In addition, we have a weekend premium that amounts to $3.00 per hour for hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays. This vacancy will be assigned to weekend shift (Friday-Monday)

Key Functions

• Role model all standards/processes and on-the-job behavior by living our core principles of integrity, fairness, & creating a positive, inclusive work environment.
• Fill in for Maintenance Supervisor, as necessary, including but not limited to vacations and weekends.
• Support Greenville Lumber by maximizing equipment reliability and providing support for facility equipment in a safe manner, by effectively managing/motivating a team of millwrights to meet operational excellence and reliability goals.
• Work closely with the maintenance/electrical supervisor(s), planners, mill management, operators, maintenance, and production teams to effectively manage maintenance of the facility and equipment.
• Machinery lubrication & other preventative maintenance assignments.
• Repairing & troubleshooting mechanical power transmissions.
• Bearing installment, coupling, belts, sprockets, and chain drive installations.
• Repair and troubleshooting of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Metal fabrication and basic principles of cylinder repair.
• Some troubleshooting and exposure to industrial electricity issues and controls.
• A personal and total commitment to observe all safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• A stable employment history with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in Industrial Mechanical work.
• Computer proficiency including Outlook, Office, Excel, Word, and Web-based programs, required (Proficiency with SAP preferred, but not required).
• The ability to work rotating shifts, to include weekends and holidays as operating conditions require.
• The ability to perform the essential job functions of the position such as but not limited to; the ability to climb stairs and ladders, navigate catwalks, lifting / pushing (50lbs), stooping, and bending, and use aerial work platforms, fork trucks and manlifts at all heights and locations in a manufacturing environment.
• The ability to work in extreme temperatures (heat and cold) throughout the plant for the assigned shift.
• The ability to fit test and wear a respirator, as required.
• Basic Computer experience is required.
• The ability to perform a welding and precision alignment presentation.
• The ability to pass a pre-employment examination, drug test and background check.
