About the role

The Weekend Lead Cleaner will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services. Duties are to be carried out in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services.

Responsibilities

  • Aids the Supervisor in leading the cleaning staff to complete duties as scheduled, including emptying waste receptacles, debris and trash removal, vacuuming/shampooing floors and carpets, dusting and cleaning furniture, cleaning restrooms, washing walls, polishing, mopping floors, cleaning up spills, cleaning windows and window coverings, etc., in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assigns tasks and inspects building areas to ensure work has been done properly, issues supplies and equipment, and conducts inventory of materials to ensure an adequate amount of supplies are always present.
  • Conducts or assists with the screening and hiring of job applicants, training new and experienced employees, conducting performance reviews, and making recommendations to management on promotions, transfers, or dismissals.
  • Prepares and presents reports concerning the occupancy of rooms, hours worked, staff assignments, tasks/duties performed, and department expenses.
  • Supervises or performs other assigned duties (depending on the building, facility, and client needs), including gardening and lawn care, cleaning/ maintaining outdoor furnishings, assisting with inventory control and supply ordering, snow removal, and assisting with tenant moves.
  • Promptly responds to and notifies management of spills and emergency situations, need for major and minor building/facility repairs, lights that are out or broken, broken equipment and fixtures, damaged structures, ruptured pipes/plumbing, problems with heating/cooling and ventilation, and any other observable safety issues/concerns.
  • Ensures the proper and safe operation (including training) of cleaning equipment, snow removal equipment, tools, devices, chemical/cleaning agents, including mops, vacuums, electric polishing machines, power tools and equipment, and special cleaning solutions in order to efficiently perform the duties and to avoid harming floors, fixtures, individuals, building staff, and the environment.
  • Organizes and maintains all Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s) for cleaning products, solvents and materials as required. Ensures staff has been trained appropriately and understands the Hazard Communication Program and utilizes the appropriate Safety Gear.
  • Disposes of cleaning agents and chemicals in an environmentally friendly way, in accordance with the SDS and governing bodies.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years related experience, preferably at the supervisory level.
  • Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment used to perform job duties.
  • Bilingual.
  • Reliable, thorough, observant, organized, flexible and courteous.
  • Effective listener and team player.
  • Understand written or verbal instructions from the designated supervisor.
  • Some cleaning experience and basic mechanical knowledge is preferred.
  • Practice the necessary safety protocols and procedures.
  • Fulfills the requirement to follow through and carry out work orders.
  • Ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices.
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work.
  • Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
  • Reads and understands information presented orally and in writing.
  • Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, drawings, and schematics.

Pay

$22.95 - $27.00 per hour

Schedule

Saturday - Sunday 2:30PM - 11:00PM
