Job Summary
Mental Health Resource Center, a comprehensive not-for-profit provider of mental health and social services and a Joint Commission-accredited organization, is seeking an Inpatient Clinician for the Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CCSU) at our Northside facility.
Responsibilities
- Provides individual, group, and family therapy sessions to CCSU patients and their families.
- Delivers individual and group training on functional, social, personal, and psychoeducational skills.
- Completes patient documentation in a timely and accurate manner, including:
- Biopsychosocial assessments
- Treatment plans and treatment plan reviews
- Progress toward treatment goals and objectives
- All services provided in the patient medical record
- All contact with patients, families/significant others, and service providers
- Collections and documentation of collateral information
- Participation in daily rounds and treatment team meetings; communication of patient progress, concerns, and family session updates.
- Affirms and monitors for risk, trauma symptoms, and indications of abuse, neglect, or abandonment; utilizes appropriate reporting procedures.
- Completes initial and ongoing assessments of patients and their post-discharge environments.
- Communicates with designated representatives, as authorized, to gather information and maintain ongoing collaboration throughout admission.
- Participates in treatment planning with patients and families/caregivers to identify and address needs.
- Initiates and follows up on requests for previous psychiatric or medical records.
- Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop treatment and discharge plans and support patients in achieving their goals.
- Identifies and develops appropriate community resources to support successful post-discharge functioning.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field from an accredited college or university required (related fields must include at least 30 hours of coursework in human behavior and development).
- Valid Florida Registered Intern credential (IMH, ISW, or IMT) required.
- Previous experience working with child/adolescent mental health populations preferred.
- Valid Florida license (LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT) preferred.
- CFARS certification preferred.
- Candidates must be able to make sound, independent decisions daily, including recognizing risks and emergencies and responding appropriately.

- Strong interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with patients, families, community providers, and multidisciplinary staff.
- This position involves both individual and group interaction with patients in a locked unit setting.
