The Weekend Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and PLC control systems on production equipment. They analyze equipment performance, identify hazards or issues, and perform repairs or programming updates to enhance production reliability. The role requires proficiency with ladder logic programming, especially in the Allen Bradley platform (RS Logix 500/5000), and experience with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components. They maintain program backups, evaluate new equipment, and assist with troubleshooting electrical problems across the plant. The technician will use a digital multimeter, work with servo controls, VFDs, and motors, and document equipment parameters accurately. Qualifications include at least 2 years of related experience, an associate’s degree in a technical field (preferred), and the ability to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses. Proficiency with enterprise asset management software and Microsoft Office is required. Key duties involve performing preventative maintenance, collaborating with maintenance and process groups, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
