The Weekend Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing production machinery, including electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems, to ensure equipment reliability. They analyze equipment performance, identify hazards, and perform repairs on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic components, and PLC controls, primarily using Allen Bradley platforms such as RS Logix 500 and 5000. The role involves documenting repairs and preventive maintenance via work order systems, maintaining program backups, and evaluating new equipment performance. Skills include basic servo control setup, motor troubleshooting, and use of digital multimeters. Collaboration with maintenance teams and the Custom Equipment Process Group is essential for machine improvements and troubleshooting support across the plant. Qualifications include at least 2 years of related experience, an associate’s degree in a technical field preferred, and the ability to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses. Proficiency in Enterprise Asset Management software and Microsoft Office is required. Key duties include equipment observation, hazard detection, troubleshooting, repairs, documentation, and supporting plant-wide electrical and PLC systems.
