Weekend Controls Technician

The Weekend Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment, including PLC controls, to ensure operational reliability. They analyze equipment performance, perform repairs, and implement PLC programming changes using platforms such as Allen Bradley RS Logix 500 and 5000. The role involves documenting repairs and preventative maintenance in the work order system (EAM), tracing problems across electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components, and maintaining backups of control programs. The technician evaluates new equipment, sets up variable frequency drives, and troubleshoots servo and motor operations. Collaboration with maintenance teams and the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) is essential for machine improvements. Qualifications include at least 2 years of relevant experience, an associate’s degree in a technical field (preferred), and proficiency with enterprise asset management software and Microsoft Office. Technical skills such as using digital multimeters, troubleshooting motors, and understanding servo controls are required. The role requires obtaining forklift and aerial platform licenses and supporting electrical troubleshooting across the plant.
