About the role
The Weekend Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled production equipment in an air-conditioned facility. They analyze equipment performance, identify hazards, and perform repairs using ladder logic programming, specifically with Allen Bradley platforms like RS Logix 500 and 5000.
Responsibilities
- Document work in the work order system (EAM)
- Trace problems with various components
- Maintain program backups
- Evaluate new equipment under operational conditions
- Set up and troubleshoot servo controls, variable frequency drives, and motors
- Collaborate closely with maintenance and process groups to improve machinery
- Provide electrical support across the plant
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Associate's degree in a technical field (preferred)
- Ability to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses
- Proficiency with digital multimeters and electrical troubleshooting
- Strong skills in enterprise asset management software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of basic motor operations
