Weekend Controls Technician

About the role

The Weekend Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled production equipment in an air-conditioned facility. They analyze equipment performance, identify hazards, and perform repairs using ladder logic programming, specifically with Allen Bradley platforms like RS Logix 500 and 5000.

Responsibilities

• Document work in the work order system (EAM)
• Trace problems with various components
• Maintain program backups
• Evaluate new equipment under operational conditions
• Set up and troubleshoot servo controls, variable frequency drives, and motors
• Collaborate closely with maintenance and process groups to improve machinery
• Provide electrical support across the plant

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Associate's degree in a technical field (preferred)
• Ability to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses
• Proficiency with digital multimeters and electrical troubleshooting
• Strong skills in enterprise asset management software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of basic motor operations
